I have wanted to get ducks again for some time, so I finally found some lovely Muscovies from another local farmer in Alert Bay. Muscovies are great for pest removal, and after last year's slug infestation, I think I should have way more ducks! The kids named them Bertha, Pecka and Turko (after the chef at Mount Cain). They have beautiful iridescent green and purple feathers and have made themselves at home around the pond. They have lots of room to swim and are tolerable to the visiting Canada Geese.
